Our dedicated meter readers visit the site monthly for easy drive-by readings and collect any system alerts such as detected leaks. We also ensure ad hoc readings are taken for when occupants move in or vacate to ensure they’re accurately billed for their water consumption.
Our Fair Water Bills service includes access to a portal where owners can monitor usage, manage their account and pay for their measured water usage. Owners’ share of common water is accounted for via strata levies and access charges with concessions are invoiced by the water provider.
Owners receive an SMS notification when their sub-meter detects a leak within their property, helping reduce the risk of property damage and encouraging timely maintenance.
Once the meter readings have been taken, we then issue individual bills to all owners as per the actual consumption. Bills are sent via email or by post. Landlords may have their bill copied to their agent or tenant.
Fair Water Bills have a dedicated bank account for each Body Corporate for receipt of owners’ payments. At the end of each billing cycle, all recoveries are returned to the Body Corporate. Portal Access and Site Reports including payment status provide complete visibility and control.
Any owners with an unpaid or overdue balance will be subject to our arrears process, which includes issuing overdue notices and referring debts to external agencies for further action in order to recover all funds for the Body Corporate.

We assist with any change of billing arrangement, so you can say hello to Fair Water Bills!
When it is unfeasible (due to cost or complexity) to install or upgrade meters for direct billing, water provider policies allow for alternate billing arrangements to facilitate equitable billing.
If not already billed in bulk, the Body Corporate will enter an arrangement to receive an account for total charges payable for water supplied to scheme land. This allows the Body Corporate to engage an external company to provide meter reading and billing services. We can coordinate a site feasibility to determine your sub-metering options
Our solutions are for multi-unit properties that either:
Where there is an isolator – we have a suitable meter.
“We own a flat in an older building and rent it out. Every owner is responsible for paying a portion of the water bill. It was surprising to find out that another unit, which was rented out, was actually operating a commercial laundry! We swapped to Fair Water Meters and our tenant is so grateful … we passed on the savings by reducing his rent as it was the right thing to do.”
“Sharing the bill when dining out can be fraught with danger. Sharing your water bill with your fellow apartment residents can be positively expensive! After switching to Fair Water Meters we discovered that one our fellow residents was running a day spa business from their apartment and we were subsidising them!”.
“We had a slow leak we didn’t know about in one of our units. It must have been there for years until Fair Water Meters were installed – their smart meters detected the leak in the first month and they texted us with the alert. Already they’re saving us money.”
